BKTEF organizes Prize distribution ceremony for distinguished students of Baacha Khan Schools

In order to commend, acknowledge and encourage the grade 10 students who showed tremendous results in BISE exams, the BKTEF arranged prize distribution ceremony in Peshawar on August 1, 2017.

The ceremony was attended by the top students of Baacha Khan Schools, the Principals, Community Education Committee (CEC) chairmen, Ex MNA Ms.Bushra Gohar, Ex MNA Ms.Jamilla Gillani and ex Senator Bashir Khan Matta.

The program was started with Tilawat e Quran, followed by Pashtun anthem “ay zama watana”.

The students were then cordially invited to express their feelings and talk about their experience in Baacha Khan Schools. In general, they shared that it is the fruit of their teachers’ hard work that they were able to achieve such high grades and excel in walks of life including arts, crafts, culture and sports. Also, they shared that it was not the marks that made them happy, rather the knowledge, the collective consciousness, the enlightenment and the confidence that they gained in Baacha Khan Schools which they shall carry with them all their lives, made them euphoric.

The students expressed that Baacha Khan Schools have deeply permeated Baacha Khan’s philosophy of non violence among their students and have made character building as one of the core ingredients in a child’s upbringing.

The students showed remorse expressing that they have to leave Baacha Khan Schools while moving to different colleges but they resolved to stick to Baacha Khan’s narrative of human dignity, pluralism and non violence.

After the students gave their impressions, Ms.Jamilla Gillani was invited to hand over certificates to third position holders. Ms.Bushra Gohar gave away certificates to second position holders while the first position holders were awarded by Bashir Khan Matta.

The ceremony ended with a vote of thanks by MD BKTEF, Professor Dr.Khadim Hussain who congratulated the students on this massive achievement.

Ms.Bushra Gohar, Ms.Jamila Gillani and Bashir Khan Matta while sharing their impressions on the occasion congratulated the students, principals and the CEC chairmen of all Baacha Khan Schools for such exemplary performance.

They expressed that the educational system should be revamped to bring about critical consciousness, multiple skills development, aesthetic consciousness and environmental consciousness.

Also, they said that the BKTEF has introduced an alternative model of education which should be adopted by the government.
