BKTEF arranges Basic Teacher Training at Peshawar

“The alternative critical model of education of Baacha Khan Trust Educational Foundation (BKTEF) is based one the paradigm of Baacha Khan and his comrades. The education model of BKTEF implemented across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in fifteen Baacha Khan Schools aims at empowerment of the Pashtun society. It seems that present public education system has failed to cater for the contemporary educational needs of Pashtun children. The curriculum and teaching learning practices in public and private educational institutions do not corroborate with modern educational researches which render them obsolete. Majority of the graduates from public and private educational institutions lack the very basic skills of reading, comprehension, writing, listening and speaking and asking questions. I have observed that a large number of graduates in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have no idea of locating a geographical direction. Most of the graduates face high level difficulty in reading and writing their mother tongues such as Pashtu, Hinko and Kowar etc. Therefore, the BKTEF strives to equip the children of Pashtun society with modern life skills, indigenous knowledge, culture education and crafts skills to pave way for national empowerment, peace and prosperity,” said Mr. Khadim Hussain (MD BKTEF) in his concluding remarks at the occasion of certificate awarding ceremony on the last day of Basic Teachers Training of Baacha Khan School Teachers. The training was arranged at the BKTEF Directorate on November 8 to November 11, 2016.

During the training, Mr. Khadim Hussain (MD BKTEF) discussed vision and mission of BKTEF, Bacha Khan Paradigm, Critical model of Education and language teaching methodologies with the participants.

Mr. Adil Khattak (Chief Executive Khattak Oil Refinery), discussed with participants the role of emotional intelligence in social and educational contexts.

During the training a study circle was also arranged on selection from Khushal Khan Khattak’s poetry. Baacha Khan School Teachers and BKTEF fellows attended the study circle. They expressed their views freely and participated enthusiastically in the discussion during the study circle.

The training was attended by 40 teacher from various communities of Baacha Khan Schools.
