Basic Teachers’ Training held at BKTEF Directorate
“The vision and mission of Baacha Khan Trust Educational Foundation (BKTEF) is to bring constructive social transformation through education, peaceful and productive means. To fulfill this mission and aim, the BKTEF has started 15 Baacha khan Schools in the underserved areas of Khyber Pakhtukhwa and FATA. Baacha Khan Schools are not just ordinary profit based private schools. Infact, they are part of Great Baacha Khans’ Khudai Khidmatgaar movement. The main points of this great movement are to construct narrative of human dignity, pluralism and peace. To develop indigenous wisdom, another main point of the Khudai Khidmatgaar Movement, Baacha Khan School have implemented Culture Education and Pashtu as compulsory part of the curriculum,” said Dr. Khadim Hussain, MD BKTEF, during the opening ceremony of Basic Teachers’ Training held at BKTEF Directorate Peshawar from September 8 to September12, 2015.
“Baacha Khan Trust Educational Foundation has implemented critical model of education at Baacha Khan Schools. This model aims to augment students’ ability to think critically about their situation which allows them to recognize connections between their individual problems and experiences and the social contexts in which they are embedded. This also allows students to become environment conscious, self-disciplined and law abiding citizens. Therefore, it is our responsibility to accomplish this extraordinary task” he added.
The Training was arranged by the school management department of the BKTEF. Training modules included Baacha Khan’s Paradigm i.e. non-violent philosophy of Baacha Khan, critical model of education, human rights, child centered and activity based teaching and learning, classroom management, communication skills and child psychology. Resource persons of the training were Dr. Khadim Hussain, Mr. Imran Khan, Ms. Sanna Ejaz, Mr. Faheemullah and Ms. Aimen Riaz. Ms. Samina (Assistant School Support Officer Administration), Ms. Tehseen Sahar (Assistant HR) and Mr. Haroon (Peace Activist) facilitated arrangement of the training.
