Baacha Khan Schools Celebrated Baacha Khan’s Day
Baacha Khan’s 27th death anniversary was commemorated on 20th January 2015 with great zeal and fervor by all fourteen Baacha Khan Schools across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA.
“Today the vision and Philosophy of Baacha Khan stand out among all others due to their sound rational foundation. The philosophy of Baacha Khan Stands on the principles of human dignity, pluralism and indigenous wisdom linked with modern knowledge. Our society is in dire need to apply this framework and transform the existing violence struck society into a new social order where life and diversity would be celebrated by everyone irrespective of class, creed, gender, age and color,” said Dr. Khadim Hussain in his message on the occasion.
“Girls’ education still needs special attention to fulfill “Education for All” dream of Baacha Khan. Baacha Khan for the first time set an example by sending her daughter abroad in a very young age for higher education. It was a conscious step to strike at the roots of orthodoxy and pave way for modern and civilized values in Pashtun society” said principal of Baacha Khan School Nauthia while addressing community gathering on the occasion at Baacha Khan School Nauthia.
“Modern researches have established the fact that children learn best in their mother tongue. There is close relationship between creativity and thinking in mother tongue, that is why Baacha Khan and Khudai Khidmatgars stressed on education in mother tongue,” said Principal of Baacha Khan School Shehbaz Garrhi, Mardan in her speech on Baacha Khan’s vision.
Students of all Baacha Khan Schools presented stage performances and delivered speeches on various themes such as peace, education, conflict resolution, and gender equity. Baacha Khan Day celebration at Baacha Khan School was attended by parents of BKS students and elders from the community. School Management department of the BKTEF also participated in Baacha Khan Day celebrations at various BK Schools.
