BKTEF Organizes Poetry Competition and Music Event for the Youth of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA

Baacha Khan Trust Educational Foundation in collaboration with National Endowment for Democracy organized a grand musical event and poetry competition for the youth of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA in Move and Pick Hotel Murree on July 22, 2011.
Under the project �Promoting Youth Participation for Positive Social Change� the BKTEF organizes different activities for the youth of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA which includes different sports competitions, debates, group discussion, music and poetry competitions etc.
In the poetry competition youth recited their own poetry on the topics of peace, love, brotherhood, unity and democracy. The poetry competition was won by Ms. Nareeman from district Peshawar. Mr. Hamid from Peshawar got second position whereas Mr. Kaleem from district Swat obtained third position.
In the Mushaira (poetry event), youth recited poetry of progressive poets such as Abaseen Yousafzai, Habib Jalib, Wasi Shah, Faiz Ahmad Faiz and others.
The poetry event was followed by music event in which songs competition was held between two groups. A young guitarist Mr. Junaid of �Ismail and Junaid Band� amused the audience and the participants with his performance. Local artists were also invited to the event and they enthralled the audience with the traditional folk music.
The Managing Director BKTEF concluded the events by awarding certificates to the participants. He extended his thanks to Aware Girls Complex and National Endowment for Democracy for supporting the events.
The event was organized by the Coordination Officer, Assistant Coordination Officer and Assistant Graphic Designer of the BKTEF.
