First All Baacha Khan Schools’ Teacher’s Conference was organized by the Baacha Khan Trust Educational Foundation on May 14, 2012 at Rainbow hall Nauthia Peshawar. Principals, teachers, assistant teachers and culture coordinators of all BK schools participated in the conference. Coordination Officer BKTEF Ms. Samira Shams and Assistant Curriculum Officer Mr. Imran Khan attended three days  diploma course on Fundamental Rights in Pakistan organized from May 4-6, 2012 at Best Western Hotel, Club Road, Islamabad by Center for Civic Education. Around 25 potential leaders (Youth) were recruited from all over Pakistan. POLISHING CREATIVE EXPRESSION OF THE YOUTH. Baacha Khan Trust Educational Foundation (BKTEF) organizes two weeks training workshop on Performing Arts (acting, drama and theater performances) and Music here in the BKTEF’s Headquarters in Peshawar. The training workshop is formally inaugurated by legendary artist Sayed Mumtaz Ali shah alias Shah jee.  Besides shah jee a number of famous and well known artists, singers, musicians, journalists and civil society activists participated in the inauguration ceremony. Ms. Sana Ejaz Training Officer and Ms. Samira Shams Coordination Officer attends one week Advanced Leadership Training from March 25 2012 to March 31 2012 at Mehergarh Islamabad organized by Mehergarh Institute. Mission

To empower the under-privileged people through quality education

Objectives

1. Provision of free subsidized quality educational services to the under-served communities in FATA/Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

2. Building a system of education that develops in students:

  • Critical and analytical thinking.
  • Problem solving and social skills.
  • Literary and artistic faculties.

3. Establishing a community based system of education through Community Education Committee (CEC) bodies.

4. Empowering women by educating and involving them in decision making processes at all levels.

Our Inspiration

We take our inspiration from the Azad schools initiative of Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan (1890-1988), dearly called Baacha Khan by his people. He was the 20th century Pashtun reformer and non-violent freedom fighter of the Indian sub-continent against the British rule.

Achievements

We, in a short span of four years, have succeeded to establish fourteen Baacha Khan schools (Hyperlink Schools map)across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA, Pakistan; imparting free, liberal & quality education to 2487 male & female children. readmore

Challenges
