The launching ceremony of the new project of Baacha Khan Trust Educational Foundation was held in Archives Hall Wednesday, 14th of Jan 2009.
The project which is titled as the "preservation and Protection of Local Culture and Heritage in Pukhtoonkhwa" is funded by the Royal Norwegian Embassy.
Under this project local artists and artisans will be involved in the formation of local cultural clubs in 7 districts in Pukhtoonkhwa.
An Art Curriculum will also be designed for the school children to enhance their artistic abilities and to enable them to appreciate and enjoy local
culture.
The launching ceremony was attended by more than 200 people which included intellectuals, artists, socio political workers, BKP School principals, teachers and students and a number of dignitaries from the civil society.
Minister for Sports, Culture and Tourism attended the ceremony and ensured his full cooperation for the success of the project.
The highlights of the ceremony were the cultural Exhibition, performance by artists on Rabab and Tabla and School song sung beautifully by the BKP
School Students.
Rehmat Shah Sayel was the show stopper as he sung one of his latest romantic Pashto Ghazal.
All the participants enjoyed a lavish lunch of local food on the lawns of Archives Library.
